Megan started volunteering with us a week or two before the whole world shut down.
She got her trainings completed and then the shelter had to run without volunteers for a couple months due to the pandemic. The second Megan was able to come back, she jumped at the chance, and has been a huge help since then.
She volunteers mostly on the dog side for the evening shifts, but has helped with our virtual adoption events and our Drive-Thru Clinic + Pet Food Bank events. But, for Megan, nothing beats getting to help with the pups at the shelter and seeing the excitement on their face when they see it’s her walking up to their kennels. Though one lucky boy has won a special place in her heart… Chance!
Megan currently doesn’t have any pets at home as her work had her traveling so much pre-pandemic, so she comes to Friends For Life to get her fix and hopes to adopt a pet herself when she can.
