Ruth started volunteering with us waaaaaay back in 2013.
Ruth came to Friends For Life with a broken heart after the loss of her kitty of 17 years. She searched for many ways to help animals, and the philosophy at Friends For Life spoke to her. Since joining our amazing #BlueShirt crew, she has helped with adoption counseling, cat socialization, mega adoption events, animal bio writing, and so much more.
Her favorite part of volunteering is when a kitty she either gotten to know through socialization, by writing their bio, or by talking to a potential adopter finds their forever home. She does her best to help the kitty’s personalities “shine” in their bios. One of the first things she does every day is check who is on a “sleepover,” and then proceeds to happy dance for those who are marked “Reserved!”
She has a kitty of her own named Macie, who she adopted from FFL after she had been volunteering for a couple of years. When she first met Macie, she knew it was love at first sight, and that they were going to live a very happy life together.
Thank you Ruth for helping us in every way that you do.
