I will give you all my love!

My name suits me to a tee: it is derived from Middle English bēne meaning friendly and amiable. But my road to this disposition has been somewhat rocky.

As a stray, I visited my foster’s home daily for food. When I was run over by a vehicle, the family took me in and helped me recover. While scared and mistrusting at first, I accepted their care and love – and learned to give them all my love in return.

An affectionate pup, my absolute favorite pastime is playing with children, running in the yard, and chasing my tail, shadows and laser lights.

I’m relaxed and show no fear when encountering people and dogs I don’t know. But I become fearful – and will endeavor to get away – when I sense an aggressive person or situation.  

I’ve never been crated but I am completely calm and content to be left alone – when there is no one I can entertain! At bath time I become a bit timid – but what dog doesn’t?

I happily share food and toys with other dogs; I’m curious about cats and learning to respect their “personal space.”

My foster says I may be “a little too friendly” – that I give anything and anyone the benefit of the doubt. I’m rather proud of this characterization!”
