Darcy

My name is Darcy and I survived tropical storm Imelda along with my mom and my sister Marcy, but since then I’ve been kind of slow to warm up in new situations.  Here’s what my foster has to say about me!

Darcy is a really funny cat with a TON of personality. He’s content being home alone during the day and hanging out with me and my roommate in the mornings and evenings. He loves keeping you company while you cook, sitting right in the doorway to the kitchen. He also loves being pet and scratched on his cheeks and at the base of his tail. Once you start petting he will not leave you alone and will lean all his weight into you.

He’s very shy and will still run and hide any time I come home, but comes out quickly once he knows it’s me. He definitely picks a favorite person, but is fine living with multiple people and still likes everyone. He gets spooked if you walk up to him, but he will approach you as soon as you sit down. He loves the laser pointer and any toy on a string (not feathers).

Darcy will scare himself by knocking something over or causing an unexpected noise and will full sprint across the room as if somethings chasing him, and then come right back and do it all over again.

Darcy has also learned that if I’m sitting in a chair that means it’s time for me to pet him. He has a spidey sense for the moment I sit in any chair and he magically appears at my feet to rub against the chair and my legs and beg for pets.

Darcy is also the only cat I’ve ever seen who will meow to make sure you remember to fill up his water but could care less if you feed him.
