Why we love Gatsby–and you should too!

“Hi, I’m Gatsby. My family of almost 10 years gave me up to a kill shelter because I was getting too old. FFL knew I still had a lot of life and love to still give! If you knew me from when I first came to shelter, you probably didn’t see me much. I hid a lot and was very apprehensive with new folks, so I liked to hide until I felt more comfortable.  Luckily, as soon  I got out of the shelter and went into a foster home, my personality was finally able to bloom.

I have had a great time meeting new people, wow, they can be pretty nice.  It didn’t take me long at all to start trusting friendly hands. I found that I don’t mind pets and scratches,  I actually LOVE them. My list of hobbies are quite short, when I am not sun bathing, 99% of my time is spent following my humans around and making sure there laps are warm! I crave human affection and will melt like butter with you on on the couch.  I had an awesome time during the Holidays when my fosters had family over, I was able to soak up all of the cuddles.  Since I love humans, I could be OK with older children – ones who already know the ins and outs of soft touches! There is nothing I love more than to cuddle up next to you at night while we peacefully drift off to sleep. I love to be brushed, which is great when you have long hair like me! I am a very respectful roommate; I am quiet, calm and have impeccable manners!

My name is Gatsby and I am really looking forward to growing even older with a new family!
