About Gomer Pyle
I’m not sure why I was named Gomer Pyle, although I do share some similar personality traits with the fictional TV character of the early 1960s, namely: I’m super friendly with people, kids and other dogs; I have a quiet and kind spirit; and I can be a bit innocent at times.
Take for example my reticence to share treats with the three senior female dogs with whom I recently stayed. While I freely shared our toys, the notion that each of us should get treats was outside my comprehension. But I’m working on this.
Of medium- to high energy, I love to go on car rides, run and play outside, sit in human laps, and give and receive hugs. When on walks, I don’t pay much attention to other dogs who bark at me from behind their fences. I become very excited when I meet new people – and when it is time to eat!
When I experience separation anxiety, I may become restless and pace. I vocalize a bit when crated, but then settle down and am in good spirits when I am let out.
My heartfelt hope is to join an active family with kids – and reciprocate the love and kindness I have received.
