I may not be able to see, but I’m a giant love bug!
Why we love Owen–and you should too!
“My name is Owen and I’m blind. I wandered up onto my rescuer’s porch and I decided I wasn’t going to leave! I was really, really thin and hungry; they knew I was blind, and they said I could stay with them and we’d start looking for a new family for me. I ate really well, gained weight and got along pretty well with their dog. The only time I had a problem with him is when he surprises me or plays too rough; then he’d get a hiss or a swat! I’m great at being your shadow and lap warmer. No dogs please, but if you have a another cat who will leave me be, I think I could co-exist just fine with enough space and attention.
My rescuerer couldn’t continue fostering me, though, so now I’m living life in the mezzanine upstairs at Friends For Life. I’d love to find a forever home to stay in!
I’m curious about the world around me, and although I can’t see, I’m not a scaredy cat. I will curl up in your lap and stay there for hours if you’ll let me; I think it’s a great place for napping or just hanging out. If I’m napping, as soon as I hear a voice I’ll wake up and you can watch me as I follow the sound. Since I can’t see, it will take me a little time to get my bearings, but I will.
I haven’t met a person I don’t like, so don’t worry about that; all you have to do is say you want to meet me and I’m sure you’ll take to this love bug in no time at all.”
