Splash, the tipsy talkative tripod!!
Why we love Splash–and you should too!
“Hi, I’m Splash! Let me tell you how I ended up here, this late in life with only 3 legs. Let’s just say I have had quite a tough run in life. I had a home, but then was homeless and not doing well on my own at all. I was brought to FFL after my rescuer just couldn’t handle me. I was very spicy back in the day. My behavior really stumped the FFL behavior team. I acted like a fraidy cat, but I was also wanting to be social which is unusual. This made the team re-evaluate what was really going on. I was off to the vet too rule out any medical issues or if I was in any pain that was making me so spicy. Well, that’s when we found out that during my street time, I dislocated my arm and it healed way wonky. I was hurting! The best thing to do was to amputate it. I didn’t use it much anyways and i think the tripod gait looks good on me. It also helps me get attention which equals more scratches!
I and am looking for a soft place to call home. It takes me some time to warm up to new people and places but just give me that reassurance of safety and my walls come crumbling down. I love attention and I will make sure to let you know when I want it! I am the most talkative kitty in the shelter and everyone knows my sweet voice. I’d prefer to be your one and only but if you have another cat, that it OK with me as long as they give me my space. They also need to have the same laid back attitude as me. Now that I am no longer in pain or fear, I have rediscovered life and love, (with one less arm!)…but I know with the right support I can do it!
