Pet Behavior Support

we use non-compulsive, choice-centered approaches to behavior modification and training. Our behavior team prioritizes keeping our eyes trained on the scientific literature and current best practices in animal welfare, so that we can always be the most humane and effective. Our goal is to enhance people’s life with animals.

We speak dog. And cat. (And ferret, rat, pig, and rabbit too.)

The Friends For Life Behavior team uses the least invasive, minimally aversive (LIMA) training techniques.

These are not only the most humane, but are also scientifically proven to be the most effective. Our goal is to enhance people’s life with animals. Behavior challenges can seem daunting, like arguing in a language you don’t speak. Let us help.

Behavior Program

We helped Drew’s family stay together.

How can we help?

Need some pointers?

Self-serve and available 24-7. We have resources available online to help with everything from dog enrichment ideas to how to train your cat to high-five.

Check out the Resource Library.

Need professional help?

It can be hard to choose an excellent trainer. The industry is largely unregulated, which means anyone can call themselves a trainer and charge you for their (maybe not-so-great) services (imagine if just anyone could call themselves a dentist!).

Here are the trainers we like best.

Can’t afford professional help?

Sometimes a pet’s behavior becomes so challenging that it makes it difficult to keep them. Behavior consults like these can cost around $200 with a for-profit animal trainer. We know that isn’t accessible to everyone, all the time. We’re proud to have a team willing to dedicate their time to providing these services to the community for free.

Request a behavior consult.
The #FFLArmy makes what we do possible.
