Bernie may be small, but he’s carrying a story of incredible resilience. This little black-and-white pup was found wandering a busy street, frightened, vulnerable, and suffering from severe skin issues that had left him nearly bald. Life had clearly not been kind to Bernie, and the world felt like a scary place.

Today, Bernie is safe, cared for, and slowly learning that people can be kind.

He’s still a very timid dog who approaches life cautiously, taking time to process new experiences and build trust. Every small step forward feels like a victory for this brave little guy. A curious glance, a hesitant tail wag, choosing to stay close instead of retreating, these moments show just how hard Bernie is working to leave his fears behind.

As his skin heals and his fur begins to return, so does his confidence. Bernie is discovering cozy beds, gentle voices, and the comfort of knowing where his next meal will come from. Most importantly, he’s learning what it means to feel safe.
