About Lady

Lady is a very proper Southern lady who knows exactly how she likes to spend her days: by her people’s side, enjoying a leisurely walk, chasing a ball, and receiving an appropriate amount of belly rubs. She may be a big girl, but don’t let that stop her from trying to climb into your lap. A lady has her standards, after all.

Lady is very smart and deeply devoted to her people. She loves being included and would be happiest in a home where she can be part of the family and keep her people company.

She’s also shown that she can have a wonderful time with other dogs, especially playful pups. She’s enjoyed chasing and playing with puppies she’s met and may especially enjoy having a smaller canine friend. In busy dog-park settings, though, Lady can feel a little overwhelmed by lots of unfamiliar dogs and prefers to keep her person close. She’s much more comfortable getting to know dogs at her own pace.

Lady’s story hasn’t always been easy. After being hit by a car, she needed surgery on her back leg, but she recovered and has continued to enjoy her favorite activities. She does best with moderate exercise and loves her walks, although longer walks can leave her limping, so she’s perfectly content with a leisurely stroll of around 40 minutes.

And then there’s Lady’s very important personal tradition: getting dried off after a bath. She absolutely loves having someone towel her off and considers it the highlight of bath time. 💕

Lady is ready for a family who will appreciate her sweet, loyal nature, give her plenty of companionship, and let her live the good life she deserves. She has been waiting patiently, and this proper lady is ready to find her forever home.
