Gru lay motionless on the cold pavement, his frail body shivering under the relentless rain. His fur was matted with dirt and pus, his breath barely a whisper. Left to fend for himself, he had no fight left, until a passing motorist spotted the small, broken figure and stopped. Scooping him up, she rushed him to safety. His body was failing, his temperature dangerously low. But as we wrapped him in warmth, Gru did something remarkable, he purred. That was all we needed to know. He wasn’t ready to give up, and neither were we.

Small Steps to Recovery
We cleaned his wounds, gave him antibiotics, and provided warm food and a heating pad. By the next morning, Gru had powered through three cans of Fancy Feast and enjoyed some pets. His strength was returning!
By January 17, he was well enough for a sponge bath—he even loved the blow dryer! His antibiotic treatment was working, and his eyes, once swollen shut, were finally opening. Every day, Gru grew stronger, soaking up love and care.
A Big Transformation
By January 23, Gru had gone from surviving to thriving. He got a full grooming session, and by January 25, his bloodwork came back negative for FIV and FeLV—one less battle to fight! He had gained weight, his abscess was healing, and he adored his heating pad and brushing sessions.
A Foster Home Needed
Gru isn’t quite ready for adoption yet, but he needs a foster home to continue healing. If you can provide a calm, loving space, reach out. This sweet old fighter deserves a comfortable place to recover!
